Bedding protection supplier Protect-A-Bed, with headquarters in Chicago, announced the grand-prize winner of its Summer Dreamin’ sweepstakes. Minnesota mom Kris Otto won for her dream about a wild, high-speed car ride with her newly licensed teenage son—“He was driving me around and started going faster and faster…squealing with delight in how scared I was. I was so afraid and then I woke up.”
Otto earned more than 1,000 votes from Protect-A-Bed Facebook fans and received a Protect-A-Bed Signature Series pillow protector and $1,000 toward her dream vacation. Protect-A-Bed said it launched the three-week contest to test dream expert Lauri Loewenberg’s theory that summertime dreams can get pretty crazy because people typically sleep less in the summer, and lack of sleep commonly is linked to unusual dreams.
