U.S. bedding sees modest gains in September

ISPA logoSeptember brought modest gains to the U.S. bedding industry, as both year-to-date unit shipments and wholesale revenues increased over 2012 levels by 1.2% and 1.7%, respectively, according to the Bedding Barometer, a monthly sales report by the International Sleep Products Association. Year-to-date average unit price showed a slight increase of 0.5% compared to 2012.

The 2013 third quarter also shows unit shipments and wholesale revenues increased over third quarter 2012 levels by 2.6% and 4.2%, respectively, while AUP increased 1.5% compared to the third quarter of 2012. The September report also contains innerspring and non-innerspring mattress data for the third quarter of 2013.
