Founder’s widow takes helm at Custom Comfort by Winn

Family-owned mattress manufacturer Custom Comfort by Winn Ltd., based in Hopewell, Va., has new leadership. Cindy Butterworth, widow of the company’s recently deceased founder Winn Butterworth, assumed the post of president and the couple’s son-in-law Justin Faison was named vice president. Executives Dickie Roberts and Chuck Lynch continue in their current roles.

Cindy Butterworth is a veteran of furniture retailing who has worked behind the scenes, guiding Custom Comfort’s marketing efforts since her husband founded the company and the Winndom bed brand in 1988.

Faison joins the family business from a position with an international mineral mining and manufacturing company, where he worked in production and compliance.

“Winn was committed to creating a quality product and standing behind it with outstanding customer service,” Faison said. “We plan to continue that practice as a part of his legacy. We’re confident that with the help of his long-time staff and our retailers, we can continue to create a better night’s sleep.”

Custom Comfort by Winn distributes to a network of dealers in Maryland, North Carolina and Virginia. The mattress manufacturer also builds custom bedding for antique bed frames, recreational vehicles and boats.
