Serta says beds should be 'easy to buy/easy to sell'

Serta iComfort Profiles

Try it, you’ll like it: New Serta iComfort Profiles has a lot to offer.

Bob Muenkle, Serta’s director of sales education, said the mattress major is aiming to “clear up the confusion” among consumers and help retailers create “a selling story with a single message, making it easy to buy/easy to sell” Serta mattresses.

At the point of sale, Serta is offering retailers “more demos” that allow shoppers to see and feel–and less verbiage. His company also recommends that retailers stop putting the “specialty beds” in one corner and innerspring in another. His recommendation, floor Serta iSeries [innerspring hybrids] alongside Serta iComfort to allow shoppers to move from bed to bed for more immediate comfort comparisons.

In Las Vegas, Serta launched iSeries Profiles, a tradeup iComfort collection with Tencel yarns in the cover and more layers of gel foams including its proprietary Cool Action Dual Effects Gel Memory Foam
