TechniThread expands production capacity and sales team

Technithread logoHigh-tenacity thread supplier TechniThread, which launched in late 2012 as an arm of Cookshire, Quebec-based 3A Throwing, has announced dramatically expanded production capacity at its Canadian plant, with the addition of manufacturing equipment from a shuttered former competitor. TechniThread operates a second plant and warehouse in Christiansburg, Va., and in 2013 added stocking warehouses in California and Illinois. It also opened sales offices in those states, as well as in Florida and Pennsylvania.

TechniThread specializes in high-tenacity sewing threads for use in bedding, quilting, filtration and industrial sewing. The company said it is now in a position to service all of North, Central and South America and the Caribbean with 100% on-time delivery.

TechniThread’s continuous filament thread “has knotless and spliceless characteristics that perform well under higher quilting speeds, creating tighter quilt patterns and producing thicker build-ups,” said Herman Tannenbaum who oversees U.S. sales efforts. “It all adds up to better sew-ability and better breaking strength, as well as faster production, less downtime and a higher-quality end product.”
