Sleep CD Therapedic is offering a sleep therapy CD with purchase.

Therapedic International is introducing a new retail marketing and merchandising program in conjunction with Dr. Gregg Jacobs, an authority on the treatment of insomnia.

The company is providing its retail partners with the opportunity to offer consumers a copy of Jacobs’ Natural Cure for Insomnia CD with the purchase of any Therapedic mattress set. The CD, which normally retails for $34.95, includes Jacobs’ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, which he developed while performing research at Harvard Medical School. Therapedic will also highlight the program with optional point-of-purchase materials featuring key sleep tips on banners and posters.

CBT is an approved method for treating insomnia without the use of sleeping pills. Aimed at changing sleep habits and scheduling factors, CBT typically includes regular–often weekly–visits to a clinician. Following a series of sleep assessments and the completion of a sleep diary, doctors work in sessions to help change the way a person sleeps. Jacob’s CD provides listeners with the chance to combat insomnia and change habits in the comfort of their own bedroom for a better night’s sleep.

“For years the sleep products industry has been trying to help consumers make the correlation that a good night’s sleep leads to better health,” said Therapedic International President and CEO Gerry Borreggine. “Our new marketing program is an ideal way for retail sales associates to start a conversation that promotes better sleep and a healthier lifestyle. Dr. Jacobs’ CD is a great value-add to consumers. Paired with any of Therapedic’s premium quality sleep sets, retailers are offering solutions for both body and mind that can help lead to a deep, restful sleep.”

Jacobs is an insomnia specialist at the Sleep Disorders Center of the University of Massachusetts Medical School and an authority on the treatment of insomnia. He completed postdoctoral fellowships in behavioral medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School. As a senior scientist at Harvard’s Mind/Body Medical Institute and an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, where he spent almost 25 years treating and researching insomnia.
