Jimmy Bush, senior vice president of corporate development at HSM, and Kerry Tramel, president of Lady Americana Associates, were honored with ISPA awards at the ISPA EXPO last month in New Orleans.
Bush was awarded the Russell Abolt Exceptional Service Award, the highest honor bestowed upon an individual member on behalf of ISPA and selected by the ISPA Board of Trustees. The award is given for outstanding individual member achievement, and is given biennially during ISPA EXPO.
Bush has served on ISPA’s Supplier Advisory Committee, Better Sleep Council, Board of Trustees, Executive Committee as the Suppliers Council Liaison, Finance Committee and other project-specific committees. He joined HSM in 1978 as a sales trainee and has held a variety of leadership roles with the company. He holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
Tramel was presented with the Robert MacMorran Memorial Award, created by the ISPA Suppliers Council in 1979 to recognize individuals in active pursuit of meritorious service to the sleep products industry, without regard to their professional or business affiliation. The recognition is presented in memory of Robert MacMorran, an outstanding representative of the industry and a past Suppliers Council General Chairman.
Biennially the MacMorran Memorial Award Committee meets to consider appropriate candidates. The committee includes both manufacturer and supplier members as well as the current ISPA chairman.
Tramel has been ISPA’s chairman of the board, served on the board, Finance Committee, Executive Committee and the Better Sleep Council. Tramel was named president of Lady Americana Associates, in 2002, after co-founder Gene Schayer retired.
