Jersey Shore Steel named international awards finalist

Jersey Shore Steel logoRerolled steel supplier Jersey Shore Steel, with headquarters in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, is a finalist in two categories—industry leadership and innovation—in the International Platts Global Metals Awards. Platts, a McGraw-Hill company, is a publisher covering the energy, metals and petrochemical sectors. The 2014 nominees are companies based in 20 countries. This is the second consecutive year Jersey Shore is among the finalists. Award winners will be announced at a London gala May 21.

In a news release, Jersey Shore said it had “made additional operating improvements in 2013 that cut process-water consumption in half, saving hundreds of thousands of gallons every day, and (it) improved yield by optimizing the way final products are sheared from reheated, rerolled railroad (steel).”
