Researchers in the industrial design department of the University of Florence in Italy have completed a “VEI Integrated Ergonomic Assessment” of mattresses made by Prato, Italy-based Magniflex.

According to a news release from the specialty mattress and pillow maker, the study methodology included 46 participants who tested 34 Magniflex mattresses and 34 traditional latex-core and innerspring-core mattresses over a four-year period. Findings show that the Magniflex mattresses reduced tossing and turning, improved temperature regulation during sleep and speeded up the onset of sleep—as compared with the latex and innerspring beds used in the study.
