Mattress Discounters' canine mascot assists in fundraiser

Mattress Discounters Tag the Bulldog

Cuddly Tag the Bulldog is available for purchase at Mattress Discounters. Proceeds go to Canine Companions for Independence.

West Coast sleep shop chain Mattress Discounters, which is owned by Sacramento, California-based Sleep Train Inc., has tapped the popularity of store mascot Tag the Bulldog, to promote its Good Deed Dogs campaign. The fundraiser, which launched in January, supports Canine Companions for Independence, a national nonprofit that trains and provides service dogs to the disabled and to hospitals and other facilities.

At Mattress Discounters’ stores, shoppers can purchase a small, stuffed version of Tag to take home with them. Proceeds go to Canine Companions. Additional donations can be made in-store or online at www.mattressdiscountersdogs.com.

“Our love for dogs greatly influenced the decision to introduce Tag as our mascot,” said Gina Davis, Mattress Discounters director of branding. “He is such a fun presence within our company and we’re excited to further share him with our community. Additionally, philanthropy is such a big part of our company culture and we’re thrilled to create a new opportunity to give back to an important and underrepresented cause through our Good Deed Dogs charity program.”
