Ergomotion promotes Vera, names two to board

Adjustable base supplier Ergomotion, which has headquarters in Santa Barbara, California, promoted Leo Vera to president and chief executive officer, and named Garth Wieger and Karl Willig to its board of directors.

Vera is the company’s longtime chief operating officer and he assumes roles previously held by founder and board chair Alain Clenet and his son Kelly Clenet, the company’s principals. The two continue with Ergomotion as active members of the board.

“Leo’s knowledge of our business has grown over the years and his performance as an operating officer has been impressive, to say the least,” said Kelly Clenet. “Our category has changed and so have the demands of the market. Leo is creative and quick on his feet to meet these needs and redirect our efforts.”

Commenting on his new position, Vera said, “Our direction is now wholly focused on bringing innovation to the market, both for end-products to our customers as well as disruptive new delivery capabilities targeted at inventory reduction, flexibility and
interchangeability on the floor. We will be announcing many new developments in the months to come and want to thank all of our customers for their loyalty and support over the years.”

Wieger and Willig join the Clenets and Vera on the Ergomotion board of directors.

Wieger is founder and managing partner of Montage Acquisitions, and a former senior-level executive at home builders Shea Homes and UDC Homes. He also serves on the boards of APSCO MuniQuip, Cal-Sierra Pipe, Hennesy Mechanical Sales and National Home Warranty.

Willig is the former head of Mission Linen Supply Inc., on whose board he serves, and held top-management posts with Arizona-Colorado Land & Cattle Co., Bromagen & Hertz, InfoGenesis, Rufenacht, Sambo’s Restaurants and Santa Barbara Capital. He also is on the boards of the Los Padres Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Santa Barbara Rescue Mission.
