Las Vegas Market: Consumers demand fluffy pillows

The BedTimes blog

On our second day at the Las Vegas Market, BedTimes and Sleep Savvy editors have decided the word–or ‘words’–of the day was ‘fluffy pillow!’ Mattress makers with pillow programs added new scrunch to their collections using fills that included shredded foams and down, and with feels that are the antithesis of molded foam or latex.

The folks at Tempur Sealy launched the huggable Tempur Cloud Pillow Collection, with quilted cotton sateen–not stretch knit–covers. The new pillows are Terry Brophey’s (new Tempur Sealy vice president of integrated marketing) favorite.

Serta‘s Kelly Ellis showed us how much she loves the additions to Serta’s pillow program. The manufacturer added pretty covers to its premium iComfort pillows–covers that match the mattresses’ stretch-knit panel fabrics–and a soft, fluffly EverFeel Foam fill.

At King Koil, there were lots of new beds to gander, ranging from the sublime Laura Ashley innerspring collection to the (ahem) offbeat Duck Dynasty line.

Other products in our sights included the hinged, patented E3 Premium Bed Frame from Hollywood Bed Frame Co., an extremely sturdy metal frame that unfolds and assembles so easily and is great for Internet and cash-and-carry retailers.

Restonic showed us how it’s making it easy for retailers to get going with social media marketing by pushing out reusable content to retailers. We also spotted some ‘new wave’ styling on the TempaGel 2 collection.
