Industry supplier Leggett & Platt has announced that Mark Quinn, segment vice president of marketing for residential furnishings, will leave the company Sept. 12 to take a post with another–undisclosed, as of this writing–bedding-industry player.

Quinn joined Carthage, Missouri-based L&P in April 2006, as executive vice president of sales and marketing for bedding. He is well-known within the mattress industry as an early-adopter of new media who made a splash with the online community for retail sales associates—Sleep-Geek.com, his blogging, podcasting and Web series, as well as his catchy, music video about hybrid mattresses.

“Over the last few years, and under Mark’s leadership from a marketing perspective, Leggett & Platt has been repositioned as more than just a supplier of components to the bedding industry,” said Perry Davis, L&P senior vice president of and Residential Furnishings president. “I believe we now occupy a new position of thought leadership. We will all be pulling for Mark to have great success as he takes his next step in his career.”
