During Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, sleep accessories manufacturer Malouf teamed up with other local businesses to provide “Comfort Kits” to area breast-cancer patients. Malouf, which is based in Logan, Utah, also made a donation to an area organization that assists breast cancer sufferers in paying their medical bills.

The Comfort Kits were delivered to a mammography clinic for distribution to women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. The gift boxes contained a Malouf pillow, a handwritten note from a Malouf employee and other items, such as blankets, socks and jewelry.

“With many people expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer during the year, we knew we wanted to do something to help people in an individual way,” said Sam Malouf, chief executive officer. “The Comfort Kits gave us the perfect opportunity to provide what we do best in a way that could impact the lives of people who truly need it.”

Malouf said it plans to continue observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month each year, in addition to carrying on other philanthropic activities supporting lung cancer awareness (American Lung Association’s Lung Force), men’s health issues (Movember), area women’s shelters and youth homes, and other charities.
