U.S. mattress sales see modest November increase

ISPA anniv logoUnit sales of mattresses and foundations increased by 0.5% in November, compared with unit sales in the same month of 2013, according to the International Sleep Products Association’s Bedding Barometer.

The wholesale dollar value of those units also grew 2.5%, compared with November 2013, and the average unit selling price increased 2%. Year-to-date unit sales and their wholesale dollar value increased by 1.9% and 5.7%, respectively, and the year-to-date AUSP increased 3.8%.

Looking at trends during the three-month period of September through November, units increased 5.1% and wholesale dollars grew by 9.5%, compared with the same period in 2013. AUSP increased by 4.2%.
