Amanda Wall
The Mattress Recycling Council has hired Amanda Wall to coordinate communications for its recycling programs in California, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
MRC is a nonprofit organization created by the International Sleep Products Association to develop mattress recycling programs for these states, which passed mattress-recycling laws in 2013. MRC’s objective is to facilitate mattress recycling in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
To her new role as MRC’s marketing and communications coordinator, Wall brings eight years of communications experience, having worked with various public-relations agencies, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas and Texas State Sen. Jane Nelson’s district office. Most recently, Wall served as an account executive at Cooksey Communications in Irving, Texas, where she was responsible for public education and outreach activities for various issues, as well as corporate communications and brand management for Dallas-Fort Worth area businesses.
Wall holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism-public relations from the University of North Texas and a master’s of public affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas.
“We are delighted to have a seasoned public-relations professional like Amanda join the MRC team,” said Ryan Trainer, president of both MRC and ISPA. “As we develop and implement the state mattress-recycling programs, we will rely on her strengths in media relations, communication strategy and consumer marketing to raise awareness of mattress recycling and encourage public engagement in the programs.”
Mattress-recycling programs will launch in early 2015 in Connecticut and in early 2016 in Rhode Island and California.
