Mattress manufacturer Kingsdown Inc., with headquarters in Mebane, North Carolina, has signed a licensing agreement with Chinese manufacturer and retailer Roth Bedding Technology International Ltd. The deal gives Roth the right to manufacture the entire line of Kingsdown bed brands, and to create new Kingsdown products exclusively for the Chinese market.
In 2015, the Hong Kong-based company will open 65 retail storefronts on the Chinese mainland carrying Kingsdown mattresses, as well as Roth furniture products. A total of 500 stores is slated to open during the next five years, a Kingsdown news release said.
Kingsdown entered the Chinese market in 2012 with the Sleep to Live brand and bedMATCH, its comfort-diagnostics tool.
