Sound Sleep Products buys Restonic licensee

Mattress-licensing group Restonic has announced that Sumner, Washington-based Sound Sleep Products Inc., a mattress manufacturer owned by John Larsen, has purchased Restonic licensee Oregon Rug & Mattress Co., which has headquarters in Newberg, Oregon. Under new name Oregon Mattress Acquisition Co., the recently acquired company functions independently of Sound Sleep, and is headed by Oregon Mattress General Manager Mike Vanier, who continues on with the company.

“There is consolidation happening at all levels of the supply chain and these synergies will allow us to strengthen our core base, and Restonic brand, throughout the Pacific Northwest,” said Ron Passaglia, Restonic president and chief executive officer.

Oregon Mattress is a Restonic licensee since 2000, and has been in operation since 1932. Sound Sleep, purchased by Larsen in 1994, operates two manufacturing facilities in the greater Seattle area and holds licensees for the Lady Americana and Paramount Sleep brands.
