Paramount Sleep promotes Bassham, hires customer service manager

Mattress manufacturer Paramount Sleep, with headquarters in Norfolk, Virginia, has promoted Melissa Bassham to director of marketing. Previously, she was marketing and visual merchandising manager. The company also has hired Kimberly Nickerson as customer service manager. Both women report to Richard Fleck, Paramount Sleep president.

Bassham started with the company in 2010 as a marketing representative. In her newest role she has diverse responsibilities—from devising the marketing department’s strategic direction to leading the company’s merchandising process.

“Melissa’s exceptional leadership skills, marketing acumen and attention to detail have made her an integral part of Paramount’s growth,” Fleck said. “I’ve enjoyed watching her hone her skills over the last four-and-a-half years and am confident that she will excel in her new responsibilities.”

Nickerson is responsible for developing and deploying customer service systems, supervising a two-person customer service team and acting as liaison between customers and Paramount operations, delivery and sales departments

Most recently, she was operations manager for Internet furniture retailer FigStores.com. Prior to that, Nickerson was with Windborne Productions, a music production company.

“Kimberly has a track record of providing excellent customer service and she brings to Paramount that special can-do attitude that we expect of all our employees,” Fleck said
