Art Van adds Ohio franchisee Rettig Brothers

Retail chain Art Van Furniture, based in Warren, Michigan, has signed a new franchisee, Rettig Brothers Furniture in Findlay, Ohio. The deal makes Rettig—which is being renamed Art Van Findlay—the first Art Van franchise location in Ohio. In addition to numerous furniture galleries, Rettig will house an Art Van PureSleep mattress gallery.

“Rettig Brothers Furniture has been a prominent furniture retailer in northwest Ohio for 34 years,” said Art Van Elslander, Art Van founder and chairman. “Tony Rettig shares (our) strong commitment to customer service and quality home furnishings at affordable prices, and we are thrilled to welcome Rettig Brothers Furniture to our retail family.”

Rettig Brothers opened in 1981 as a 3,000-square-foot storefront founded by Ed, Kevin and Tony Rettig. Since that time, the retailer has expanded to a 60,000-square-foot space with many branded galleries.

“Our new partnership with Art Van Furniture will allow us to add even more name-brand furniture lines to the impressive products our guests already enjoy,” said Tony Rettig, owner and president. “To be affiliated with one of the country’s most successful family-owned furniture retailers and to benefit from Art Van Furniture’s buying power is a dream come true.”

In 2013, Rettig Brothers was named Small Business of the Year by the Findlay-Hancock County Chamber of Commerce.

The addition of Art Van Findlay, scheduled to open in July after an extensive remodeling, brings Art Van Furniture franchise locations to nine.
