HomTex adds manufacturing in Tennessee

Sleep products producer HomTex Inc. and 50 new employees marked the opening of a new manufacturing plant in Waynesboro, Tennessee, in July.

Sleep accessories supplier HomTex Inc., which has headquarters in Vinemont, Alabama, has leased a 24,000-square-foot former cut-and-sew facility in Waynesboro, Tennessee. The site’s existing equipment allowed the company to begin production of its DreamFit brand with minimal retrofitting required, according to a news release. The deal includes an option to buy the property.

In July, HomTex held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Waynesboro plant, which employs 50 workers.

“Waynesboro presents a strategic opportunity for HomTex due to its strong labor pool,” said Jeremy Wootten, HomTex president. “The trained workforce allows us to scale quickly and respond to our growing production needs.”

This is the second time HomTex has added capacity this year. In May, the company acquired a 300,000-square-foot plant in its home state. HomTex also has production facilities in North Carolina and South Carolina and maintains offices in China and India. The company manufactures several brands of bed linens, sleeping pillows, mattress pads, duvets and other top-of-bed products, including Suprelle, Dream Essence by FitRite and Revive.
