Chicago-based mattress licensing group Englander Sleep Products announced it offers coast-to-coast coverage in the United States thanks to recent partnerships, and that international licensee SA Bedding Company Ltd. of India has expanded its distribution.
Englander attributes its domestic growth to new relationships with manufacturers Southerland Bedding and Symbol Mattress, as well as to longtime partners Englander Midwest/Illinois Sleep Products and Englander Northwest/Tualatin Mattress Co. The four licensees jointly own the licensing group and, together, make and market Englander-branded bedding from 11 factories strategically located across the country.
“Our unique structure today ultimately serves everyone’s best interests,” said Kevin Toman, Englander president and chief executive officer. “It accommodates increased Englander-branded business, ensures quality and consistency in Englander products, facilitates expansion into new national and regional accounts, and positions us to become a meaningful factor in the digital retail marketplace.”
SA Bedding, which became an Englander licensee in 2014, has added Maldives and Sri Lanka to its broad distribution area, covering India and the Mideast. Headed by Ashok Sharma, director and CEO, SA Bedding operates four plants in India that produce 10,000 mattresses a month.
“Mr. Sharma is a well-known and highly respected bedding professional across India and the Middle East,” Toman noted. “We look forward to his success in expanding the distribution of the Englander name and products throughout these island countries.”
