Sleep accessories supplier Bedgear, with headquarters in Farmingdale, New York, has hired Justin Gannon as director of sales.
Gannon is a mattress industry veteran with more than 17 years of merchandising, marketing and sales management experience in wholesale and retail environments. Most recently, he was vice president of sales with Classic Sleep LLC. Prior to that, he was with Mattress Discounters and Sealy Inc.
Gannon was brought on board to play a key role in the launch of Bedgear’s first mattress collection at the upcoming Winter Las Vegas Market Jan. 24-28. He has responsibility for national sales strategy, product merchandising and accelerating new business development for the company’s nascent mattress business.
“This is the biggest launch for Bedgear yet and retailers are anxious to get started with us,” said Eugene Alletto, Bedgear founder and chief executive officer. “As we move forward and scale our business, it’s important we bring on experienced executives to continue to drive momentum in the performance bedding category. We are very pleased to have Gannon join the team and confident his expertise in the mattress industry will add significant value.”
The new mattress collection targets Millennials who will be enticed into specialty sleep shops to purchase a “personalized sleep surface,” according to a news release.
