This year’s Summit features a host of special events and appearances designed for both BrandSource veterans and brand new members. In keeping with the tradition of past conventions, we are proud to present the Butch DuBose 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 28 and the 3rd Annual Women in Business Luncheon on Monday, Feb. 29, where a panel of successful female executives in the industry will field questions from the audience. In order to welcome first time members, there is also Sunday’s attendees’ reception, where they will be introduced to our management team and other members new to the BrandSource group.

In the hopes of fostering new relationships among its members, BrandSource also incorporates fun into the mix. The four-day convention includes non-business activities such as GE Sponsored Game Night on Tuesday, Mar. 1, which is hosted by our Young Professionals, a distinguished group of future industry leaders in their 20’s and 30’s, as well as the GE and Electrolux sponsored 5K run/walk on Wednesday, Mar. 2 which benefits Disabled American veterans.

Silicon Valley-based entrepreneur and writer Ben Casnocha will give the keynote address for this year’s expo on Tuesday. The address will focus on concepts derived from his NY Times bestseller, “The Alliance: Managing Talent in the Networked Age,” which he co-authored with LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman. Casnocha is co-founder of Allied Talent, a consultancy that helps companies better engage their top talent. He is also co-author, with Hoffman, of “The Start-Up of You: Adapt to the Future, Invest in Yourself, and Transform Your Career”.

In between events is a host of informative seminars and training sessions designed to educate members about new products and offer helpful tips on how to transform their businesses using new ideas and strategies. Representatives from LG, Samsung, GE, Whirlpool and Electrolux will introduce the most advanced additions to their appliance lines in a series of presentations throughout the expo and demonstrate how they work. Meanwhile, a series of seminars, scheduled to run from Monday-Tuesday, will inform members about new sales and marketing strategies.

Some of the titles of these motivational presentations include “We Can’t Wait for Customers, Go Get Them” by Brad Huisken, “How to Market to the Four Generations” by Phil Gwoke, and “How to Use Social Media to Differentiate your Business” by Jeff Korhan. The combination of product demonstrations and seminar information ensures that BrandSource members will become well versed on new technologies and business strategy while also taking the time to meet other members and make new contacts.
