Mattress maker Kingsdown, headquartered in Mebane, North Carolina, has opened the first Kingsdown branded showroom in Vietnam.
The branded showroom and retail store, located in Ho Chi Minh City, features bedding imported from the United States by Kingsdown licensee Far East Foam.
“We have enjoyed a fantastic reception in Asia over the past few years with its growing middle and upper classes,” said Frank Hood, Kingsdown president and chief executive officer. “As wealth spreads throughout the region, it made sense to expand our presence in Vietnam with our partner Far East Foam. Our products are held in high regard in this region and as economic prosperity expands geographically, we want to be one of the first brands these consumers become acquainted with.”
The showroom is one of more than 100 the company plans on opening in Asia in the coming year. That number includes 46 in China.
The company also plans on opening 60 bedMATCH/My Side locations in China this year. Kingsdown began selling those brands in the country in 2012.
