Devan Chemicals’ expanded headquarters in Ronse, Belgium, includes a new research-and-development center, a customer collaboration area and offices for its customer service department.
Devan Chemicals, a supplier of specialty chemicals and technologies for the textile industry, with a strong focus on the mattress and bedding sectors, has completed work on its expanded headquarters in Ronse, Belgium. The building houses a new research-and-development center with six fully equipped labs, a customer collaboration area and quarters for its customer service department.
The site’s expanded network of laboratories is focused on distinct products areas and processes, from FR testing to microencapsulation technology to analytical testing and quality control for customers.
The building adds 15,000 square feet, bringing Devan’s offices and production facilities at headquarters to 80,000 square feet. Devan also has operations in England, Portugal and the United States, as well as sales and manufacturing partnerships enabling its products to be distributed all around the world.
“The investment at its world headquarters underlines Devan’s commitment to conducting research and development for customers around the world, from the Americas to the Far East,” said Kenny Parrish, country manager for the company’s U.S. arm Devan-US.
The individual microencapsulation and probiotics labs are new with all-new equipment, Parrish added.
Devan’s microencapsulated phase-change technology, Thermic, has been in use in the bedding market since 2010. Its labs also develop fragrances and oils, and created the first probiotic fabric finish for mattress ticking. Regarding FR, the company supplies products for topical fabric and fiber applications, as well as for fiber extrusion. The company’s lineup includes products that impact fabric and fiber softness, friction and anti-microbial characteristics.
