Mattress licensing group Therapedic International, with headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey, has strengthened its position in Colorado following the merger of two entities that now jointly produce goods under the Therapedic brand.

Sermaro International, the Therapedic licensee in Denver since 2009, has merged with Old West Mattress Co., a Denver-based independent manufacturer that was a Spring Air licensee from 1982 to 2007.
The new entity, using the name Old West Mattress Co., continues as the Therapedic licensee for the region. Lester Mesner, who led the former Old West Mattress Co., is chief executive officer of the merged entity, and Rodney Goodrum, former head of Sermaro International, is president.
In making the announcement, Gerry Borreggine, Therapedic’s president and CEO, said: “This merger is the ultimate win-win-win scenario. Mesner noted: “With the combined resources of each company, the new entity will be in a stronger position to compete in today’s ever-changing bedding landscape. The merger will strengthen our ability to continue to provide personalized service and innovative products to our customers.”
Commenting on the decision to continue as a Therapedic licensee, Goodrum said: “Therapedic has become a well-respected brand under Gerry Borreggine’s leadership, and we are extremely pleased to continue to be a part of the family of factories that will continue to contribute to that success.”
