Malouf Chef Courtney Larsen Bikes 300 Miles in Fundraiser

Courtney Larsen, in-house chef for Malouf, a sleep accessories supplier with headquarters in Logan, Utah, stepped out of the kitchen and hit the road with celebrity chefs and members of the culinary community to participate in Chefs Cycle, a fundraising event to fight hunger.

Malouf chef Courtney Larsen helped raise money for charity by biking 300 miles in three days.

The three-day, 300-mile ride May 16-18 in California drew 230 culinary professionals to benefit No Kid Hungry, a campaign from the nonprofit Share Our Strength that connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches families how to cook healthy, affordable meals. The goal was to raise $2 million for the charity.

“Chefs Cycle is an awesome event supporting a great cause,” Larsen said. “I am an avid cyclist, and I’m passionate about ending childhood hunger. As a father of two young kids and someone who has devoted my professional and personal life to food, I want everyone to eat well.”

Every dollar earned from the fundraising event provides a child in need with 10 meals. Larsen’s involvement in Chefs Cycle is supported by the Malouf Foundation, which has a common mission to support kids and families during difficult times.

Many in the bedding industry know Larsen for the gourmet food he prepares and serves in Malouf’s Las Vegas Market showroom.
