Aydin builds new research-and-development facility

Textile supplier Aydin Tekstil Tic. ve Paz AS has added a separate facility to house its research-and-development center at the company headquarters in Istanbul.

Aydin is a producer of ticking, upholstery fabrics, decorative carpets and other home textiles.

The R&D center’s staff of 35, many of whom are engineers, is tasked with developing “high-value products that improve the quality of people’s everyday lives,” the company said.

Products are rolled out at more than 15 international fairs annually, as well as to individual customers in more than 100 countries.

The R&D center earned “the approval” of state agency the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. The work done there has helped the 60-year-old company build and maintain a global reputation for design and technical excellence, the company said.
