Warren, Michigan-based furniture and mattress retailer Art Van Furniture has promoted Neil Zimmer to senior vice president for its sleep shop chain Art Van PureSleep. Brenda Dillon has been hired to fill the new position director of e-commerce merchandising for Art Van Furniture.
Zimmer previously was vice president of merchandising. His new position also has absorbed the responsibilities of David Van Elslander, former president of Art Van PureSleep, who left the company to pursue outside interests.
“We are looking forward to having Neil dive into the senior vice president role as his leadership and strategic skill sets have significantly helped the brand reach impressive milestones,” said Kim Yost, president and chief executive officer of Art Van Furniture. “We are confident that Neil’s expertise will continue to direct and lead the path for Art Van PureSleep’s growth.”
Previously, Dillon spent eight years with Ashley Furniture Industries, most recently serving as vice president of merchandising and product development. Prior to that, she was vice president of merchandising for CR-Home. Past positions include merchandise manager for Broyhill Furniture Industries and buyer for May Co.
Dillon is responsible for overseeing and directing the purchase and merchandising of all products featured and sold on Art Van Furniture’s website, including products shipped from the company’s warehouse, as well as those directly shipped from vendors to clients. She reports to Michele Azar, chief digital officer.
“Brenda is essential to … Art Van’s expanding e-commerce equation,” Yost said. “We are revamping our e-commerce efforts in 2018, and Brenda’s vast expertise within the furniture industry will be key to re-energizing the guest experience online.”
