Rick Anderson, executive vice president of Lexington, Kentucky-based Tempur Sealy International Inc., and president of Tempur Sealy North America, received the Anti-Defamation League’s American Heritage Award.
He, along with Jeff Child, president of home furnishings retailer RC Willey, and Bob McKinnon, chair and chief executive officer of Burlington Technologies, were honored June 14.
Anderson was recognized for both his personal activities — such as heading up youth mission trips — and leading Tempur Sealy’s corporate philanthropic activity, according to a June 28 article in The Lane Report, a Kentucky business news publication. Over the past several years, the company has donated more than 150,000 mattresses to charities across the United States.
“It was an honor to receive the American Heritage Award from an organization I greatly respect,” Anderson said. “While my personal commitment to supporting worthy causes is important, I am even more proud of being part of the great work that Tempur Sealy is doing across the country. ‘Doing the right thing’ is truly in Tempur Sealy’s DNA.”
