Southerland moves to premier showroom space to unveil 'Evolution Collection' and 'Ionic Sleep System' at Las Vegas Market

Southerland unveils ‘Evolution Collection’ of hybrid mattress at Las Vegas Market

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  Continuing a strategic move in recent years that focuses on product innovation and higher-end designs, independent mattress manufacturer Southerland will unveil its Evolution Collection at the Winter Las Vegas Market Jan. 28 – Feb. 1. The next generation hybrid line features a range of ultra-premium materials and technologies curated for a supportive, comfortable sleep. 

The five model Evolution designs include a multi-zoned 1,130 wrapped coil system, gel, phase change cover applications and latex and memory foams infused with copper ions for its health benefits. Dressed in an elegant black hue and highlighted with lavender accents, the beds feature luxurious, deep quilting, and are designed to stand out on retail floors. The quilted hybrid design gives the new collection a distinct look separating it from the hybrid pack by incorporating deep stitching atypical of many hybrid designs in the marketplace.

Priced to retail from $1,799 to $2,999 in queen, the five-model Evolution line will be unveiled in Southerland’s newly expanded Las Vegas Market showroom, B-965 in the World Market Center.

‘Ionic Sleep System’ from Southerland features copper-infused fabrics for healthier sleep 

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  Looking to capture a larger segment of the sleep accessories business, leading independent sleep products manufacturer Southerland will introduce the Ionic Sleep System, a line of pillows, mattress protectors and sheets infused with copper ions that offer benefits ranging from odor control to improved hygiene and overall skin wellness. The collection will be unveiled at the Winter Las Vegas Market Jan. 28 – Feb 1. 

Southerland IonicThe Ionic Sleep System features copper ions woven into the cotton fabric to deliver a cool, comfortable and healthy sleeping environment. The copper ion-infused fabrics and other components deliver antimicrobial properties, and copper has been noted to benefit circulation, act as an anti-inflammatory and deliver anti-oxidant properties. Sleep products made using copper offer a number of benefits, including odor control, improved hygiene, improved skin texture, skin tone and overall skin wellness for the consumer. 

“This is the wonder fiber for sleep products,” said Bryan Smith, president and CEO of Southerland. “Copper has a great health-benefit story to it and studies have shown it helps remove toxins from the body. We’re bringing in fabrics with benefits for our sleep accessories line that complement our Ionic Sleep Systems mattress line, and we look forward to expanding the selection as new, more innovative fibers continue to be developed.” 

The collection will feature four pillows made of latex and memory foam, one mattress protector and two sheet sets. Pillows are priced to retail from $99 to $159, while the mattress protector retails at $79. The luxurious sheet sets, made with copper infused fibers, will retail between at $149 and $199.  Given Southerland’s focus on selling adjustability, the sheet sets are offered in Split King and Split Cal-King sizes which provide fitted sheets for adjustable bed bases.

Southerland more than doubles its Las Vegas Market showroom with move to premier corner space in build B

New space provides maximum exposure & space for brand’s growing product lineup

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  In a move to strengthen its presentation and better showcase its growing product line, independent mattress manufacturer Southerland is relocating its Las Vegas Market showroom to a highly visible, corner location for the January market. The new showroom, with its dramatic black walls, will display the company’s extensive new lineup of mattresses, adjustable bases and sleep accessories and will provide retailers with display inspiration for their stores.  

Located in space B-965 of the World Market Center, the 6,800-square foot showroom boasts two glass walls for maximum exposure from passersby, a comfortable lounge area along with a bistro for meals and two conference rooms for private meetings. 

“Our new larger, better-designed space gives us the ability to showcase the entire breadth of our line at market,” said Bryan Smith, president and CEO of Southerland. “We’ll showcase each collection in specially designed, fully accessorized bedroom vignettes that will serve as inspiration for retailers looking to display and sell Southerland products. The new location gives us the needed footprint to show off our product and tell our story based on the ‘Southerland Way’ which drives our culture and commitment to do things the right way.” 

Throughout the showroom, Southerland will spotlight its selection of bedding collections in grouped vignettes highlighted by lightboxes that detail attributes of each product presentation. The new Evolution Collection, Southerland’s newest selection of next generation hybrids with the anti-inflammatory and other health properties of copper, will be featured prominently in a designated section. Other collections, including the upper-end, luxury Scandinavian and   Heritage Copper Latex collectionsand ThermoBalance, with its temperature regulating construction, will each be shown in specially designed vignettes. In addition to the mattress collections, Southerland will spotlight its InMotion and American Adjustables motion bases in prominent locations in the showroom.  

Several tables and chairs are sprinkled about in the showroom to give buyers a place to pause while making their way through the space, and the company’s bistro will be open to buyers looking for a quick snack between market stops. 

“We’ve designed the showroom to give our visitors exposure to the extensive Southerland line, while being mindful we have a lot to absorb. The seating throughout allows for a decompression zone, which would also work in a well-planned retail showroom,” Smith said.
