Textile supplier Elfa International has expanded its in-house design capabilities with the hiring of Cindy Rice as lead designer and McCall Moore as product designer.
Their first collections for the New York-based company were on display at ISPA EXPO 2018 March 14-16 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Rice has responsibility for overseeing the design team and guiding the conception of new collections, determining the aesthetics and technical aspects of new products, working with the sales team, conducting trend research and more.
Previously, Rice was lead designer for Creative Ticking. She reports to both Brian Gorlo, Elfa vice president of sales, and President Edward Assile.
“Being a designer with Elfa International has broadened my horizons in the best possible way,” Rice said. “I am able to work with a close-knit yet worldwide community that embraces creativity. Our new collections for 2018/2019 show a great depth of design aesthetics, and both McCall and myself were so excited to share this with the industry.”
Moore primarily is responsible for designing new products and staying current with the latest trend forecasts. She, too, joins Elfa from Creative Ticking. She reports to both Rice and Gorlo.
Commenting on her new post, Moore said: “I am thrilled to be working with Elfa so that I can continue to express my creativity in my work. … So far, my experience with Elfa has been nothing short of wonderful, and I am so thankful to be a part of such a talented and motivated team. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for the company as it looks extremely promising.”
