Tempur Sealy selects Murray for top marketing post

Tempur Sealy International Inc., headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, has hired Tom Murray as senior vice president of marketing. He reports to Rick Anderson, executive vice president and North America president.

Murray’s key responsibilities are creating and executing marketing plans in the United States and Canada, establishing and building on the brand positions for the company’s flagship brands, developing long-term product development roadmaps, expanding brand awareness and preference through comprehensive media and public relations strategies, and reviewing new product and category extensions.

Previously, Murray was senior vice president of marketing for ADT Security Services. Prior to that, he held similar posts with TomTom Inc. and Carbonite Inc. His background also includes stints with Duracell, Gillette, Procter & Gamble and White Rain.

“Tom is a seasoned marketing executive with a rich and diverse history with some of the world’s most respected and well-known companies,” Anderson said. “We are excited to have him join the Tempur Sealy team. His experience and vision, combined with our portfolio of leading brands, will produce world-class marketing plans that help us achieve our vision of improving the sleep of more consumers around the world every night.”
