Joseph Megibow
Purple Innovation Inc., maker and marketer of the Purple mattress and bedding brand and owner of the bed’s patented Hyper-Elastic Polymer technology, has hired Joseph Megibow as chief executive officer. He succeeds Sam Bernards, who left the Alpine, Utah-based company earlier this year.
Megibow is an experienced business technology and e-commerce executive who, most recently, was an independent consultant with Advent International, a global private equity firm that holds a controlling interest in Serta Simmons Bedding LLC. He also was senior vice president and chief digital officer for retailer American Eagle Outfitters Inc., managing a period of tremendous online sales growth from 2012 to 2015. He is credited with building a global omnichannel strategy and infrastructure for the brand. Prior to that, Megibow held senior roles at Expedia Inc., including serving as vice president and general manager of travel site Expedia.com.
