Bedding and mattress producer Soft-Tex International has earned a 2018 American Graphic Design Award for product packaging. The awards are presented by the publication Graphic Design USA.
The Waterford, New York-based bedding maker was honored for the innovative packaging of its new SensorGel brand of pillows, produced exclusively for Macy’s department stores.
“Soft-Tex is proud to have a 100% in-house graphic design department, and this award is a testament to the creative, best-in-class product they produce on a daily basis” said Chris Marsh, Soft-Tex’s chief marketing officer.
Just 10% of the more than 10,000 entries submitted under 20 categories were winners in this year’s independently judged contest.
Courtney Ellis, Soft-Tex creative design manager, described her inspiration for the project: “I wanted to create an organic and bold impression for our consumers by taking a different approach for this collection. The design needed to be as unique as the pillows themselves, so I veered from the typical pillow-box look while pulling inspiration from the infused materials in color and textures.”
Ellis and the Soft-Tex design team have responsibility for all Soft-Tex product packaging, in-store displays, photography, websites and more.
