Perry Davis, executive vice president and president of the Residential and Industrial Products segments of industry supplier Leggett & Platt Inc., is retiring in early 2020.

Davis joined the Carthage, Missouri-based company in 1981 and served in various capacities within the Bedding Group, including president of U.S. Spring and president of the Bedding Group. He was appointed president of the Residential Products Segment in 2012 and added the responsibility of president of the Industrial Products Segment in 2017.

Karl Glassman, L&P president and chief executive officer, thanked Davis for his four decades of service and called him “a recognized leader in the global bedding industry.”

“Perry helped us navigate a very dynamic market in recent years,” Glassman said. “He also led the effort in 2018 to acquire (Elite Comfort Solutions), which brought Leggett capabilities necessary for continued long-term success in this market. We wish Perry and his family the very best. He will be missed both personally and professionally.”

Commenting on his pending retirement, Davis said: “I’ve been so fortunate — and I’m very proud — to have worked my entire career for a terrific company and with such great people. As I leave, I am certain the company will not miss a beat. We have so many great younger employees ready to step up.”

He added, “Any measure of success I’ve had in my career is due in no small part to my loving wife, Kim.”

Davis’ busy retirement plans include spending more time volunteering and pursuing several hobbies.
