American Textile Co. has hired Brian Lehr as vice president of e-commerce and Doug Venuti as vice president of information technology, a new position for the company. The family-held producer of branded, private-label and white-label mattress protection products, pillows and bedding has headquarters in Duquesne, Pennsylvania.
The two new hires are guiding the company’s internal and external digital transformation, a news release said. Their addition supports a decade of growth as well as a recent, pandemic-driven surge in e-commerce, particularly in mattress protection products and weighted blankets.
Lehr has more than 15 years of sales and e-commerce leadership experience. He is responsible for overseeing and implementing American Textile’s e-commerce growth strategy across multiple channels.
Previously, Lehr managed the e-commerce team at American Licorice Co., where he drove significant growth, according to a news release.
He reports to Lance Ruttenberg, president and chief executive officer.
Venuti brings more than 20 years of information technology experience to his new role and is responsible for developing and executing IT solutions across all functional areas. His background includes stints with retailers Dick’s Sporting Goods and Talbots Inc. He reports to Carlo Morgano, senior vice president of IT.
“Consumers are continuously searching for products to help enhance their sleep hygiene and as a result we’re experiencing increased demand for our innovative products,“ Ruttenberg said. “Placing a priority on e-commerce and information technology will drive our overall vision to support our retail partners and meet the evolving needs of our consumers. Lehr and Venuti’s expertise will be vital to ensuring we deliver on this vision.”
