Precision Textiles, a supplier of coated fabrics, nonwovens and laminations, has manufactured and sold more than 10 million yards of a nonwoven fabric expressly for medical gowns. It also donated 2,000 masks to Oasis, a nonprofit in Paterson, New Jersey, that helps women and children in need. Precision Textiles, headquartered in Totowa, New Jersey, is an ongoing supporter of Oasis, whose mission is to help break the cycle of poverty with a range of services, from food assistance to workforce development skills.
In early April, the company began producing medical-grade
fabrics for use in personal protective equipment that has been in short supply since the onset of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
“Over the last few months, this segment of our business has grown rapidly,” said Scott Tesser, chief executive officer of Precision Textiles. “Prior to the pandemic, this product line was a small portion of our business. Now, we are running at full capacity to help bridge the gap with domestic supply to meet the increased demand quickly as sales continue to grow.”
