James Roberts “Jim” Moss, an industry veteran and long-time employee of Serta Simmons Bedding LLC, died April 7. He was 50 and a resident of Wellington, Florida.
Moss spent close to a quarter century in the bedding industry working first with Simmons, then Serta and Serta Simmons Bedding. He began his bedding career in territory sales at Simmons, rose quickly to key account management and moved to Serta (which became SSB in 2012). He held a number of roles with increasing responsibility, including sales manager, brand manager, vice president of sales and national accounts manager.
“He will be greatly missed by all,” said Scott Tinsley, vice president of sales for Atlanta-based SSB and board chair for the International Sleep Products Association. “Jim was a long-time Simmons, Serta and SSB employee, a valued co-worker and personal friend to many.”
According to an obituary written by his family, Moss was a Florida native, held a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Florida in Gainesville and was an avid Florida Gators fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two daughters, and many lifelong friends.
Survivors include his wife, Andreana, parents Bill and Judy Moss, daughters Isabella and Jillian, sister Kelly Brown and brother-in-law Mark Brown, as well as a large extended family.
