Mattress licensing group Therapedic International, with headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey, has signed a licensing agreement with South Korean mattress maker SAB Co. Ltd., located in Gyeonggi-do province which includes Seoul.
SAB Co. is owned and operated by mattress industry veterans Kay Shin and Yuna Kim. The 6-year-old company currently produces more than 500 units per day of innerspring, hybrid, foam and latex mattresses.
Gerry Borreggine, president and chief executive officer of Therapedic, said: “It is well-known that Therapedic International is thoughtful and thorough in selecting our licensee partners, and we are pleased to have the operational and marketing strengths of Mr. Kay Shin and Ms. Yuna Kim behind the quality of the Therapedic brand in South Korea.”
Shin said: “Yuna Kim and I had a desire to sell the highest quality mattresses directly to Korean consumers. Now we have found the answer. It is to become a family member of Therapedic, one of the world’s best mattress companies.”
