The Textile Business at Milliken & Co., based in Spartanburg, South Carolina, has selected Will Ringo, sales director for bedding nonwovens, to join the board of the Mattress Recycling Council.

The MRC is an industry-led board organized by ISPA to administer and implement mattress-recycling laws. A mattress industry veteran, Ringo will be the first Milliken associate to serve on the MRC’s board.

Ringo has supported the mattress industry for over 20 years, developing some of the most sought-after and sustainable FR products, according to a news release.

“I’m excited to represent Milliken on the MRC board, gain valuable insights on the end of life for mattresses, and help the industry better design materials that have a lower environmental impact,” Ringo said of the new appointment.

Milliken is heavily involved in sustainable manufacturing and is one of just five global manufacturers with net-zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, company officials said.
