ISPA’s Statistics Committee Releases Fall Forecast for 2023

ISPA’s Statistics Committee has released the 2023 fall forecast for the U.S. mattress market, which covers the calendar years 2023 through 2025.

Based in part on an economic analysis prepared by the University of Michigan and input from the ISPA Statistics Committee, the consensus view is that the wholesale value of the total U.S. mattress market (U.S.-produced and imports) will decrease in 2023 but increase in 2024 and 2025.

For 2023, the forecast shows a 7.5% decrease in the wholesale value of mattress shipments and a 12.0% decrease in unit shipments. For 2024, the forecast anticipates a 1.5% increase in the value of mattress shipments while units shipped will remain flat. For 2025, the forecast anticipates a 4.0% increase in the value of mattress shipments and a 3.0% increase in unit shipments.
