The Home Furnishings Association (HFA) announces the addition of Paris Gholston, Customer Relations Coordinator at the Mattress Recycling Council (MRC), to its Board of Directors. On July 22, 2024, the HFA Board Development Committee met to select 2025 officer candidates, followed by an August 7, 2024, meeting to choose director candidates. Through this process, the committee recognized Gholston’s industry knowledge and recommended her as a director, reflecting HFA’s commitment to diverse leadership. Gholston will serve a 3-year term and will be eligible for an additional 3 years after that.
Gholston is originally from Alabama and now based in Washington, D.C., where she has been instrumental at MRC, a nonprofit organization founded by the International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) to promote mattress recycling nationwide. Since joining MRC in 2015, she has been a key point of contact, guiding program participants through compliance and recycling initiatives. Her role involves close collaboration with finance, government affairs, and marketing teams to support the organization’s sustainability efforts.

During Gholston’s impressive career, she has held influential roles across marketing, program management, and customer service, gaining experience at organizations including Washington Sports Club, American University, and AT&T. Gholston earned a Master’s in Recreation and Sport Management from the University of Tennessee and a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Gholston actively contributes to initiatives to support the industry and its talent, serving as Vice President of Scholarship on the board of WithIt, which promotes leadership development for women in the home and furnishings sector.
