Ticking supplier BekaertDeslee received a 2025 Interzum Award for High Product Quality for its Infinity cover, a recyclable mono-material solution made from 100% polyester, including recycled content.
“This recognition honors the exceptional quality and sustainable innovation behind the Infinity cover, reinforcing BekaertDeslee’s role as a pioneer in eco-conscious design within the sleep industry,” company officials said in a news release.
The Infinity cover includes 91% recycled content — 53% from PET bottles, 30% from BekaertDeslee’s own post-production waste and 8% from chemically recycled textile-to-textile sources.
The inclusion of a digital product passport and RFID tag ensures traceability and transparency throughout the product’s lifecycle, especially at the end-of-use phase. Additionally, an integrated, antislip polyester layer enhances mattress stability traditionally achieved with nonrecyclable components while preserving mono-material integrity. Altogether, these innovations contribute to a CO2 equivalent reduction as much as 26% compared with virgin polyester covers, enabling efficient disassembly and reintegration into new production cycles, according to the release.
“This recognition affirms our belief that quality and sustainability must go hand in hand,” said Ruben Puype, sustainability director for BekaertDeslee. “The Infinity cover is a tangible step toward a circular future for mattress design, combining high-end performance with environmental responsibility.”
