Whether you’re shopping for machinery, tools or components, Interzum Cologne has it all.
This month, many members of the bedding industry will be destined for Cologne, Germany to take part in Interzum Cologne, the world’s leading trade fair for furniture production and interior design, which runs May 20-23.
It’s an impressive biennial event, both in the number of exhibitors and attendees. A few quick stats:
- Interzum attracts more than 1,600 exhibitors from 59 countries. More than 80% of visitors and exhibitors are from abroad.
- The Koelnmesse Exhibit Complex, which houses the trade fair, covers 2 million square feet (187,400 square meters). It’s huge.
- In 2023, Interzum Cologne brought in 62,000 visitors from 150 countries.
And this year’s show looks to be running along the same lines. “The impressive level of registrations shows how big the anticipation surrounding Interzum is within the industry, despite the continuing global economic and social challenges,” said Maik Fischer, Interzum’s director, in a news release. “As the world’s leading sector platform for innovation and commercial success, the event is set to be a pivotal gathering for international suppliers yet again. The trade fair will reflect the industry in its full diversity and depth.”
In 2023, Interzum focused on sustainability as a central theme and this year, that emphasis continues. With the theme, “Rethinking Resources: Circular and Biobased Solutions,” the trade fair will focus on material cycles and innovative biobased materials. Resource-
efficient production processes are crucial to the industry’s future, and this key topic will feature prominently, officials said in a news release.
