3Z Brands Moving Oregon Production to Its Main Phoenix Facility

3Z Brands, a vertically integrated manufacturer and retailer headquartered in Phoenix, will close its 75,000-square-foot mattress factory in Tualatin, Oregon, at the end of October. The factory was part of 3Z’s December 2024 acquisition of Southerland and produced products exclusively for the Southerland brand.

According to the company, “the decision to close the plant is part of a strategic consolidation,” and it is “supporting the Oregon team through the transition and is grateful for their contributions.” Fewer than 30 employees will be affected by the Tualatin closure.

The Oregon factory’s production capacity will shift to 3Z’s main factory in Phoenix, which is undergoing a 250,000-square-foot expansion. Once complete, the facility will total just under 1 million square feet. It handles coil and foam production, cut-and-sew, assembly, and shipping and supports all 3Z’s direct-to-consumer and Southerland brands, as well as its private-label and contract manufacturing business. The company said the Phoenix site employs more than 750 people and plans to hire more after the expansion.

â€śThis expansion gives us more than enough capacity to fully support the West Coast from one location, without any impact to Southerland customers,” company officials said.

Following the Oregon closure, 3Z will operate four factories throughout the U.S. — two in Phoenix, one in Oklahoma City, and its East Coast hub in Nashville — with just under 1.5 million square feet of total manufacturing space.
