CertiPUR-US-approved foams are tested and certified to have been made without the following: chlorofluorocarbons or other ozone depleters; PBDE flame retardants; mercury, lead and heavy metals; formaldehyde; and prohibited phthalates. They also have low levels of VOC emissions that impact indoor air quality, and they must pass physical performance tests for durability.
