Superior Importers recalls mattresses sold exclusively through Amazon.com

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, New Brunswick, New Jersey-based Superior Importers voluntarily has recalled about 6,200 mattresses that failed to meet the mandatory federal flammability standard for mattresses, posing a fire hazard.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the mattresses.

The recall involves Basic 6-inch and Basic 8-inch Home Life mattresses sold in twin, full, queen and king sizes. The mattresses are ivory with tan and gray accents. The beds’ law label reads: “Made for Superior Importers Company, 502 Jersey Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.”

The mattresses were sold exclusively through Amazon.com from May 2016 through May 2017 for between $50 and $150. The mattresses were produced by ABEST Technology Co. Ltd. of China.
