HPMA Announces Board of Directors Changes For 2027

NEWS RELEASE

HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 21, 2026 — The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) today announced updates to its Board of Directors.

Jeremy Hoff, chief executive officer of Hooker Furnishings, will assume the role of Chair of the Board. Hoff is currently concluding a three-year term as Vice Chair.

“For more than a century, High Point Market has served as the cornerstone of the home furnishings industry, continually evolving to reflect the changing needs of our business,” said Hoff. “I am honored to help build on this remarkable legacy by championing innovation, strengthening industry collaboration, and elevating the Market experience for all who participate.”

Current board chair Christi Barbour, founder and partner of Barbour Spangle Design, transitions to Immediate Past Chair.

George Jordan, president of The MT Company and owner of 311 N. Hamilton, will become Vice Chair after serving two years as a board member.

Three incoming board members will serve two-year terms ending in October 2028:

  • Sean O’Connor, president, Universal Furniture (also serving on the Executive Committee)
  • Vicky Serany, founder, Southern Studio Interior Design
  • Nathan Copeland, president, Highland House Furniture

The board updates were formally announced during today’s HPMA board meeting at Fall Market.

“We are exceptionally fortunate to have such dynamic leadership guiding the High Point Market Authority,” said Tammy Covington, president and CEO of HPMA. “Jeremy Hoff’s vision and deep industry roots make him the ideal leader to succeed Christi Barbour, whose guidance over the past three years has been invaluable. Alongside George Jordan and our talented new board members, this team brings a rich mix of manufacturing, retail, and design expertise that will keep High Point Market at the forefront of global home furnishings.”

The HPMA Board of Directors is responsible for strategic guidance and oversight of market operations and global marketing initiatives.

The next High Point Market is scheduled for April 10–14, 2027. Registration will open in mid-January 2027.
